Hi Sarah, good luck in all you do with this, like other 'invisible' illnesses, this tends to get ignored by the establishment and other people are often in denial of it's existence and it becomes a stigma.
My sister has had several breakdowns and it's very difficult to know how to handle it, usually it's either 'get a grip of yourself' or the sympathetic arm, whereas really we should be trying to understand how these states develop and what can be done to either prevent it occurring in the first place by recognising signs or help the person manage it.
I hope it goes well for you.

Regards
